This lecture presents the theoretical principles and evidence supporting the
use of behavioral economics with specific application to substance abuse
treatment and reduction of HIV transmission behaviors. Attention will be
focused on ways implementation of behavioral economics programs can be
manipulated to produce optimal behavior change.
